A national survey says that at 7.5 million children younger than 18 years of age across the United States suffer from having to live with a parent or parents with alcoholic problems. The survey report came from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), who used information from 2005-2010 National Survey on Drug Use and Health.

A study dispels the popular notion that people with mental health problems are prone to return back to their criminal ways, and end up again in jail as a result. The study is headed by a researcher from the Case Western Reserve University Mandel School of Applied Science, which shows that mental illnesses actually protect some inmates from returning back to jails.
