A research study based in University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands shows that eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy offers a promising alternative in treatment of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as studies show that it provides faster results compared to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

A new study shows that veterans returning from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are likely to fall to painkiller addiction, according to researchers based in San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center. They said that veterans often return with complaints of pain due to undiagnosed psychological problems such as PTSD and depression. Because such problems do not receive appropriate treatment, veterans tend to be prescribed strong and habit-forming painkillers like oxycodone and hydrocodone.
